New NOAA study estimates future loss of labor capacity as climate warms Event

US-Wissenschaftler berichten am 24. Februar 2013 in der Online-Ausgabe des Fachmagazin Nature Climate Change, über die Einschränkung von Arbeitsleistung als Folge von zunehmender Klimaerwärmung und damit ansteigender Hitze und Luftfeuchtigkeit. Mithilfe von verschiedenen Klimamodellen haben die Wissenschaftler der National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Princeton (New Jersey) die Entwicklung der Temperatur und der Luftfeuchtigkeit bis zum Jahr 2200 simuliert.

Researchers at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predict that dive will continue, reshaping daily life in the most populated areas of the planet as climate change intensifies. 


By 2050, a combination of rising heat and humidity is likely to cut the world’s labor capacity to 80 percent during summer months — twice the effect observed today.
