Die Havel wurde zur Flusslandschaft des Jahres 2004 und 2005 von NaturFreunde Deutschland und dem Deutschen Anglerverband ernannt. Sie entspringt im Nationalpark Müritz in der Nähe von Ankershagen, durchfließt Brandenburg und Berlin und mündet in Sachsen-Anhalt bei Havelsberg in die Elbe.
