Weltweit zweistellige Wachstumsraten der erneuerbaren Energien Ereignis

Der am 12. Juli 2011 vom Politiknetzwerk REN21 veröffentlichte Globale Statusbericht zu erneuerbaren Energien 2011 (Renewables Global Status Report, GSR) bestätigt den weltweiten Trend hin zu erneuerbaren Energien. Mit einem globalen Anteil von rund 16 Prozent am Endenergieverbrauch und nahezu 20 Prozent am Stromverbrauch im Jahr 2010 hält das Wachstum der erneuerbaren Energien weiter an. Die globalen Investitionen in erneuerbare Energien wuchsen 2010 um mehr als ein Drittel auf 211 Milliarden US-Dollar an (2009: 160 Milliarden US-Dollar). Politische Ziele und Förderpolitiken sind weiterhin zentral für den Ausbau der erneuerbaren Energien und existieren bereits in mindestens 191 Ländern auf Staatenebene (2005: 55 Länder). Ein wachsendes Engagement ist in Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländern zu beobachten. Windenergie verzeichnete 2010 den größten weltweiten Zubau, gefolgt von Wasserkraft und Photovoltaik. Erstmals wurde jedoch in Europa mehr Photovoltaik- als Wind-Kapazität zugebaut.

The Renewables 2011 Global Status Report (GSR) published by the REN21 policy network on 12 July 2011 confirms that there is a global trend toward renewable energy. Renewable energy accounted for some 16 per cent of final energy consumption worldwide and for almost 20 per cent of electricity consumption in 2010, reflecting continuous growth. Global investment in renewable energy increased by more than a third in 2010, reaching a total of 211 billion US dollars (in 2009, it was 160 billion US dollars). Political targets and support policies continue to be crucial for the expansion of renewable energy. There are at least 191 countries that have adopted relevant national goals or policies (in 2005, there were only 55). Developing and emerging economies are becoming more active in this regard. In 2010, the greatest increase took place in the field of wind energy, followed by hydropower and photovoltaics. However, 2010 was also the first year in which Europe saw a greater increase in photovoltaic capacity than in wind capacity.
